On July 22, the research article titled “Insulator-free topological photonic multi-lane highways,” jointly led by Professor Xiaohan Cui from the State Key Laboratory of Millimeter Waves at Southeast University, Associate Professor Ruo-Yang Zhang from Nanjing University, and Professor C. T. Chan’s team from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, was published online in Nature. The work introduces and experimentally demonstrates a new topological photonic waveguiding mechanism that supports multiple spatially separated, robust one-way channels without additional photonic-insulator cladding, offering a new physical principle for high-density photonic integration.
